Clinical Team
They give you thorough eye examinations starting with the cornea all the way to the retina. They use the latest equipment in taking your eye pressures and Ultra-Wide Retinal Imaging using Optomap and can do OCT imaging that shows them a cross section through part of the retina. They fulfil all your contact lens needs and help you to keep your eyes as healthy as they can be, from the front to the back.

After a lot of thought and deliberation I have decided that it’s time to turn off my eye testing equipment for the last time and retire at the end of this year.
I started working at the Bedford Eye Centre in 1990, taking over the running of the practice in 1992 and changing the name to Simon Donne Opticians. With your support and the hard work of my team the practice continued to develop and grow until 2019 when we joined forces with Simon Browning Optometrists, becoming Donne and Browning Opticians and Hearing Care. For the first time we were able to perform Optomap and, later on, OCT scans which transformed the eye examination in ways which were unimaginable when I first qualified in 1982. We are also now able to offer new techniques for treating dry eye and blepharitis.
Many of you have been on the journey with us from those early days in the nineties, some have come on board more recently. It has truly been a privilege to meet you all and provide what I hope has been a great service over the years. I know that Susan, Saira and their team will continue this tradition at Donne and Browning Opticians.
